Skylight Tinting

Sawtooth roof glazing is what makes a converted industrial building beautiful, and it's also a heat lamp aimed straight down at your floor.

A barrel-vaulted skylight glazed overhead, filmed to cut the heat coming straight down.

Skylight & Overhead Glazing

Daylight Without
The Heat Lamp

Skylights and roof glazing take the sun at its most direct angle, which makes them the hottest square footage in most buildings. Below them you get a hot spot, blown-out glare, and floors, furniture, and stock fading in a stripe that tracks across the room with the sun.

Culver City has an unusual amount of it, because so much of the commercial stock is converted industrial. Sawtooth and monitor roof glazing was designed to daylight a factory floor in an era before air conditioning, and it does that job extremely well — along with delivering an enormous solar load into a space now full of people and equipment. Film cuts the heat and glare, blocks the UV, and on overhead glazing we can add a safety laminate so a broken pane stays contained. We bring the lifts and staging.

  • Solar control on sawtooth and monitor glazing
  • 99% UV rejection to stop fading
  • Safety laminate for overhead containment
  • Curved, domed and sloped glazing
  • Lift, staging and rope access included
  • Acrylic and polycarbonate compatible films

What Sets Us Apart

Why Businesses Choose
Window Films of Culver City

Kills The Hot Spot

Sun straight down through glass is the hardest case there is, so it's where film repays most.

Overhead Safety

Safety laminates hold a broken pane together instead of letting it fall into an occupied space below.

Stops The Sun Stripe

That bleached band creeping across the floor and the furniture stops moving once the ultraviolet is out.

We Bring The Access

Lifts, staging, and rope access for high roof glazing and sawtooth bays. You don't coordinate a thing.

Our Process

How It Works

01

Overhead Survey

We identify the glazing material, the fall, the height, and the access, then quote the roof as a single package.

02

Film & Safety Spec

We specify the solar product and any safety laminate the position calls for, against your real glazing.

03

Access & Install

Access is rigged, everything beneath is sheeted, and film goes up one panel at a time.

04

Clean & Confirm

Site cleared, a review from ground level, and the overhead glazing warranty documented.
